Salish Landing

Lam Bow Project

In June of 2023, Seattle Housing Authority completed construction and opened Salish Landing on the former site of the Lam Bow Apartments, which were destroyed by fire in 2016. The 82-unit five-story Salish Landing building at 6955 Delridge Way SW features 1, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments that surround a large courtyard and playground. The new building adds 31 more units of affordable housing than were previously on the site. Former residents who were relocated elsewhere after the fire have been invited to return as residents of the new Salish Landing if they wish.

The community’s name, Salish Landing, honors the diversity of tribes and Indigenous people of the greater Puget Sound region and their connection to the sea, lakes and rivers that support life.

PRIDE PLACE

Capitol Hill has a long history of being a home and cultural center for LGBTQIA+ life in Seattle. Community Roots Housing, in partnership with GenPride, hopes to preserve and enhance this proud tradition by developing LGBTQIA-affirming affordable apartments for seniors in the neighborhood.

Pride Place, an eight-story building located on Broadway between Pike and Pine, features 118 apartments above an LGBTQIA-focused community and health services center run by GenPride.

Martha's Place

Martha’s Place provides 70 units of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) for households experiencing homelessness and low-income households at risk of homelessness in Skagit County. Catholic Community Services of Western Washington provides supportive services to the residents, with a focus on long-term stability. Martha’s Place provides another housing choice for homeless households that have difficulty finding and qualifying for housing in the private market and that are seeking a supportive community.

This project has been made possible due to funding provided by the City of Mount Vernon, Skagit County, the Washington State Housing Trust Fund, and through low-income housing tax credits as awarded by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission.
